- 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 medium yellow onion (finely diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups beef broth (low sodium)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, half the onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, thyme, salt, and pepper; form into 8 patties.
- Sear patties in a skillet until browned on all sides, then transfer to a slow cooker.
- Sauté remaining onion in the skillet, add broth and flour slurry, then pour over patties.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours until meat is very tender.
- Stir in butter, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
