- 1 box jumbo pasta shells (16 oz)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 large onion (finely diced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 jars marinara sauce (24 oz each)
- 1 can tomato paste (15 oz)
- 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Boil pasta until just shy of al dente, drain, and cool.
- Brown beef and sausage in a skillet, then sauté onion and garlic.
- Add marinara, tomato paste, and spices; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix ricotta, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, half Parmesan, and herbs for filling.
- Stuff shells, arrange in a dish, cover with sauce and remaining cheese.
- Bake covered for 25 minutes, uncover, and bake until bubbly and golden.
