  • Author: Sofia
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 48 treats 1x

Description

Delightful homemade snacks featuring a soft, cake-like texture with a blend of pumpkin and peanut butter that dogs love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin (plain puree)
  • 1 cup Jif Creamy Peanut Butter (ensure no xylitol)
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • ½ cup Water (plus extra if needed for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the 1 cup of Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin and the 1 cup of Jif Creamy Peanut Butter, stirring until completely smooth and homogenous.
  3. Gradually add the 3 cups of all-purpose flour and the 1 cup of rolled oats to the wet mixture, switching to your hands to knead until a cohesive ball forms; add water one tablespoon at a time if the dough is too dry.
  4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, roll it out to a thickness of about ¼ inch, and use a dog-bone shaped cookie cutter to cut out the treats, placing them on the prepared sheets an inch apart.
  5. Bake in the center rack of the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until firm to the touch and light golden brown around the edges, then let cool completely on the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Keywords: Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. For longer storage, freeze in a sealed bag for up to three months. Do not microwave to soften as this creates hot spots. Always ensure peanut butter contains no xylitol before feeding.
