- ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ cup plain dried breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ½ cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, parmesan, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl until just combined.
- Flatten meat into circles, place mozzarella in the center, and seal to form four thick steaks.
- Sear steaks in hot olive oil for 4-5 minutes per side until browned.
- Reduce heat, add water, cover, and simmer for 6-8 minutes until cooked through.
- Check for 160°F internal temperature, remove from heat, and rest for 5 minutes.
