- 1 pound wide egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion (finely diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 jar marinara sauce (24 ounces)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Boil wide egg noodles until al dente (2 minutes less than package directions), drain, and set aside.
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Combine cooked noodles with the meat sauce in a large bowl, then transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
