Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla using an electric mixer until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients; gradually stir in boiling water until well mixed.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Prepare strawberry filling by mixing chopped strawberries with sugar and lemon juice; thicken with cornstarch mixture.
