  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the sauce: 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to a thickness of about ¼ inch. Layer each with ham and cheese; tightly roll and secure with toothpicks.
  3. Dredge each roll in seasoned flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat; sear each roll for about 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until cooked through at an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. For the sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour for one minute, gradually add milk while stirring, then incorporate Dijon mustard and Parmesan until thickened. Season to taste.
  7. Remove toothpicks from rolls before slicing and serve drizzled with sauce.
