  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Heaping ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • Heaping ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips + 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the brownie layer by combining sugar and melted butter in a bowl. Mix in cocoa powder and then add the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually incorporate flour, baking powder, and salt before folding in white chocolate chips.
  3. In another bowl for the cookie layer, beat cold butter with both sugars until creamy. Add the egg and optional vanilla extract; mix well. Combine flour with baking soda and salt before folding in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  4. Spread brownie batter evenly in a greased 9×13 inch pan. Top with spoonfuls of cookie dough and gently spread it out.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling before slicing into bars.
