- 2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons apple butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the filling by mixing diced apples, apple butter, sugar, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, and cornstarch in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
- Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick and spread the filling evenly on top.
- Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into even pieces.
- Place rolls cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let rise again (30-45 minutes).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- While baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing room-temperature butter and cream cheese until smooth; add powdered sugar and heavy cream gradually.
